June Update

So the site has basically had an overhaul, and now with having a team to help bring our new bait to the fishing fraternity, the updates will be little more consistent.

2018 ended quietly for myself as I concentrated on incQbait's future as a carp bait company. The team of Scott Cook, Dave Cook and Josh Mayes did us all proud right down to the coldest months as the carp switched off.

Now well into 2019, I myself have still yet to get a good session going. My concentration has been, bait, bait, bait, and, more bait. I think Ive been out 3 times this year only with 3 hook pulls and a series of liners, very frustrating, especially losing the largest common carp residing in Elphicks' Prairie lake at the net on a cold January morning, was a gut wrenching experience. 44b of shear gold spat the hook. Amazing to watch, but not to experience. However, the upside has been watching my little bait company, incQbait take a small yet significant meteoric rise. A couple of new baits have been developed and are doing well to say the least. The captures in the gallery should tell you something, mainly that I'm not talking hot air and proof that its working. Yes we still have to beat the 32lb common carp caught in 2017 but I am confident we will.  Our own Josh Mayes joined us in 2018 just a week after he'd landed a 35lb mirror on an overnight session, who knows, that fish could have been on one of our baits had it been a week earlier.  Hindsight is a wonderful thing. Josh has produced some nice fish however, with 28lb of Mirror carp being the biggest and still respectable weight. Dave Cook is now the leading catcher, with 12 fish in a 12 hour session in appalling conditions and the the ever green Scott Cook doing his infamous short sessions after work landing some lovely commons and a handful of gorgeous tench . All welcome to say the least. But as we all know, as ever with carp fishing and catching the 'big un' is always going to need a little luck on the day and of course being in the right place at the right time. After all, fish move and location, weather and timing is everything.

This last couple of months has seen the addition of one more angler to the team, Craig Grant. A good carp angler in his own right and I feel a balanced addition to the team...looking forward to seeing more of Craigs fishing exploits over the months

Until the next update, tight lines
