hey all
so another post today.
June has been a remarkable month for us. Josh Mayes, working his magic for most of the month, making up for the absence of Carp in the last 10 weeks, smashing the Denton complex (more on this place later) on a first visit producing a 31lb Common known as Pea Head, followed up, with the return of Scott and Dave Cook, both whom have been producing the good too, on the river and lakes near them.
The biggest news to date now is that of our very own Craig 'B.A.' Grant....
Craig recently did a trip to a place near him called Pavyotts Mill carp fishery with his family for 4 nights. This is awsome as not all families do things like fishing together on a day session let alone a few days, so this is really good to see. So having been there for two days already, the fishing seemed slow, but on the Sunday, around mid afternoon, the man himself landed a 22lb Common Carp. using a stick mix of Live-X and some maize to tempt the fish in. The fish was immaculate....see below...

With said fish returned, it was rods back out again for another 24hrs or so. This time, it was a corn topper over a Live-X boilie on the rig and a scattering of bait as per usual. Then, late afternoon the alarm went off, and Craig was into another fish. Having seen the video Craigs wife shot,(we will post it) the thing did give a bit of a runaround, yet, at the same time seemed to behave like a sack of spuds. Patiently though the fish gradually came in and again Craig's wife Zoe, kindly slid the net under the fish, helping craig land another Common. A Common Carp know as Bonzo, weighing in at 40lb! Yep thats 40lb of Carp, smashing Craigs then PB of 28lb by a massive 12lb. Well done that man!
So going from the gorgeous Pea Head caught by Josh at 31lb earlier in the month, the scales have gone to 40lb!! what an amazing month the team have had. All the guys certainly making up for lost time and Craig tipping it with this one. Well done guys, and a massive congrats to Craig, and thanks to Zoe for landing it, especially as Craig likes folded reel handles, you never know what would have happened....chaos may have reigned.
Okay so, without anymore delay, Enjoy this pic of Bonzo (and Craig) at 40lb...
